Automated and information systems designed to monitor situations are intended to collect, process and display information about the situation (surface and above water), which is obtained via communication channels in almost real time mode from situation monitoring centers, various technical surveillance means (radar stations, optoelectronic facilities, sensors, unmanned aerial vehicles, ground based data utilization stations for remote earth sensor systems).

It provides information exchange between situational centers and situation monitoring centers of the interacting government bodies, intellectual transportation systems and corporate information systems.

Automated and information systems are built as geographically distributed service-oriented architecture systems (SOA, on J2EE).

Information exchange is performed via optic fiber telecommunications channels, satellite channels, GSM network, Internet Wi-Fi Internet, WiMAX networks, VHF, and HF.
